After less than a month in existence, the Armagh Inline Hockey Club is pleased to announce the official club name. The club wanted a name which was some way related to Armagh city itself. Armagh is well known throughout the world for its Planetarium, the only one in Ireland, and therefore we decided to name the team the Armagh Stars.

In fact among the new members of the club, are three PhD students from around different parts of the world, who are currently employed at the planetarium Observatory studying different aspects of the solar system.

The club has spent time designing the club logo. We wanted it to reflect the historic aspect of the city as well as the cross community basis which we have been formed on. Featuring in the logo, are the two Catholic & Protestant Cathedrals in the city as well as the City’s Planetarium.

Hopefully it won’t be long till the first stars team takes to the court in friendly game action, watch this space..................
