The Inline Hockey Exhibition day was held last Sunday (12th) at the Orchard Leisure Centre. With two junior teams from Bangor and Lisburn in attendance to play an exhibition game,
Over 40 Armagh residents came along to find out what exactly Inline Hockey was. Interested players ranged from 9 years old to 30.

After everyone got a chance to get information about the game, hear the aims of the new club and got to try on equipment, they got a chance to get on court themselves. Both Junior teams remained on court and mingled with all the interested locals, lending them their sticks to allow them to shoot pucks at the heavily padded goalies, and chatting to them about the sport.

At the end of the day, 25 new players were eagerly wanting to know when the clubs first session will be held. They don’t have to wait long as the clubs first session will be held this Sunday 19th November from 4pm – 5:30 pm in the Orchard Leisure Centre. All players have been asked to bring their roller / inline skates with them, along with any type of helmet which they might have, such as bicycle/ skateboarding/ Hurley / hockey helmet.

They have also been asked to take knee or elbow pads along with them if they have them, but this is not a necessity. Anyone who wasn’t able to attend the exhibition day but would like to come along on Sunday and take part is more than welcome.

The club has a small amount of skates available for people without skates of their own, but it is best to inform the club in advance that you will require them by contacting Stephen Lynch on 07779297414.

The club organisers are very excited about the great response from the public and are excited about getting started this Sunday.  Lady Coach Dorinda Foot was particularly delighted that so many women attended with 13 expected this Sunday.
